Day Trip ………….

We had a great day out today.

We took a lorry load of the young horses out for their first trip away from home to Allerthorpe where there is a super indoor school.

We set some fences up and then got stuck in !  I was expecting a few exciting moments, but the boys behaved impeccably in a different environment.

Irode Bruce (4yo) & Chris was on Marley (5yo) ~ then the brothers came out.  JD (5yo) and Pom Pom (6yo).

Jd was an interesting one , it all seemed a bit much for him !  He jumped well enough, but Chris had more fun on Pom I think !!

Finally, Chris rode Sparkles (4yo) ~ he was a little more game (!), but soon settled down to work and Chris did a great job of building his confidence.  He’s only been backed for a couple of weeks, but is already looking like a pro.

We always have a bit of a laugh & I think it helps when there’s a gang of us to sort out the horses between us.  Andrea, Dad & Kate were the “hands on the ground”, and after a couple of hours we were all done.

On the way home we stopped off for late lunch ~ good old bacon sarnies all round !!!!

The biggest regret of the day is that it wasn’t chucking down with rain ~ then I could have really enjoyed being in an indoor school, a luxury that I’d love to have, but am still waiting for that illusive lottery win !!

Really cant wait to get going next year, its all so exciting.

This week we have temporary stabling going up in the yard, to accommodate the rest of the herd so they can get working, and also to fit in our visitors who come for training.

Only 40 sleeps til Christmas !!!!  And probably plenty more X Factor drama in between !!
